My name is Jakob Sparhawk, but i prefer the name Jake if you please. I was born and raised here in Boise, Idaho. Hobbies of mine include playing soccer with friends in my spare time, reading weekly manga and starting new ones, and as well as watching anime. I decided that Boise State was my calling, due to money constraints and easy access. I chose my major to be in pre-pharmacy and hope that within a few semesters i can transfer over to ISU to finish up my schooling. I don’t really have a reason for choosing the path of pharmacy, but life sometimes pushes me towards unanswered regions, and such is that. I’m prepared for your teachings and the numerous classes ahead in my college career.

Hi Jake, nice to meet you! Were you ever interested in a career that you felt wouldn’t be achievable? hence kind of falling into the pre pharmacy program? I am always really interested in peoples career choices and the reasoning behind it because growing up I always heard that you had to do what you loved as a career, but to me a career just gives me the luxury to do what I love on my off time.

Hi Lindsay, it’s nice to meet you as well! Going on your question about my career, I think i love the fact of a challenge. I like to push myself and the fact that pharmacy school takes a lot of dedication and effort really strikes my interest. Also I really did love chemistry and my biology classes in high school which helped me find a calling for this career. I’m actually trying to get a scholarship for ISU through my work. I work for Albertsons for a few years and there is a position as a technician at the pharmacy their. If i can work there for a while, they can help pay for my school, which would help out a ton! Anyway, thank you allowing me to be in this class and i can’t wait to study history!

    Jake,

I like your choice of major! I am a Mechanical Engineering major, but I also considered taking prerequisite courses for pharmacy school as well. My father is pharmacist back home in Thailand, and that is what sparked my interests of studying pharmacy.

I look forward to working with you this semester!
